5 Must-Haves for Your Closet This Year

In 2022, we’re wearing great outfits because it’s finally time to flaunt what we’ve got, after years of wearing masks and being anti-social. What do you have in your closet? Okay. Maybe it’s time to update your wardrobe if your clothes stayed stuck in 2019. No worries: we have the best picks for you. Check them out:

Cute skirts and dresses

If you want to be good to go, wearing the cutest dress skirt or maxi dress, there are plenty of great trends in the dress and skirt department. A feminine look that is perfect for the summer heat, skirts and dresses can make a difference in your readiness for any occasion.

The perfect look for a date night but also a great outfit for a picnic in the park with your friends, there’s nothing that we don’t love about filling up your closet with cute dresses and skirts.

Camisoles

A camisole top should be found in every woman’s closet. Better yet, a few camisoles should be found in every female’s closet, as they are the versatile top that can both be used as is but also be used under a jacket or blazer, should the weather cool down.

They can be classy and chic or can be casual and comfy. If you don’t have camisoles now, shop around for the perfect few that can be your go-to staples for nearly any occasion. Ask your personal stylist to help you find the right options for your lifestyle and needs.

Jean shorts

Denim shorts in your closet during the summer is definitely the way to go. We get that summer heat can make it a bit uncomfortable for us ladies with the thick thighs.

No worries: pair your denim shorts with thigh cream products that keep the chafing at bay and make sure you’re buying the right size for your specific size, so that you can romp around during the sunny days with comfort and great style in mind.

Adorable hats

You may be a sunshine queen right now but if you don’t protect that pretty face of yours, you could end up being sunspot queen in your future and nobody wants that.

Take care of that pretty skin by faithfully wearing sunscreen and if you want to look great while adding style and flair to any outfit, shop around for adorable hats you can go to when the sun is too bright, and you want to keep your skin looking glowing and youthful. If you need ideas on the latest fashion trends for hats, check out online magazines.

Great shoes

Look around for shoes that promise comfort but also make you look like you were born a fashionista. True; oftentimes, the most stylish shoes may also be the ones that tend to be a bit uncomfortable. Fortunately, there are some that combine both and will have you looking amazing while also promising comfort, no matter what.

From heels to Converse, fill up your closet with the ideal shoes that you will want to wear, whether you’re going for a picnic in the park with your friends or you’re meeting up with your honey for a date.

In Conclusion

If you want to be ready for any occasion, your closet should have some staples that you know that you can trust to make you look good.

From the perfect dress to the cutest mini skirt, shop around until you find the pieces that make you feel as beautiful as you look. While comfort is key, also think about getting out of your comfort zone with your style.

Send It? A Tale of Mountain Biking and Life

I’m staring down a big ol’ fat rock. The name “Elephant Butt” is quite fitting, as it looks just as large and in charge as I could imagine one being. I’m no stranger to big booties, but this one takes the cake. It’s not only high, but it’s also crooked. How? How am I supposed to ride down that without toppling to the side? How am I supposed to not slam on my brakes and do an over-the-bars that sends me to heaven?

These are the questions that I face many times while out on the trails. Did I ride down Elephant Butt? I did. But, not before I bailed not once, not twice, but at least four times. Did I make it down in one piece? I did.

Once, I shut the doubts down and simply focused on riding down the way I know best. Butt back over my seat (thanks dropper) and arms steady, keeping my body low, but most of all, mind focused. I did fine. I made it. Just as I’ve made a lot of things that I thought were impossible.

This is the thing about fear on the trails. You stare at things that just don’t seem to work in your mind. Angles, drops, rocks, and steep inclines — you name it, there are so many things about mountain biking that challenge your mind to be more than just the thoughts that you listen to at any given second.

You learn to push away the ones that will do you no good.

Falls. I’m now covered in scars. A lot of them. Some from silly falls that simply happen out of the blue. Other falls happen because you do one thing that you shouldn’t do: listen to the fear. The other day I was riding with some friends and there was a ledge that was two and a half feet tall. Or, maybe three?

Anyway, there was a narrow part that I had already done. I HAD already gone through it. But, as I approached it, I thought to myself, “I could topple over.” What did I do? I toppled over. Fortunately, I’m becoming quite good at my bails and did a simple little ballerina jump off of the ledge to the ground below while leaving my bike to experience pain.

The point I’m getting at is that I’ve never understood fear as much as I do now as a mountain biker. I have never seen it so up close and personal as I have while out on the trails.

Of course, skill is a major factor and I don’t (usually) attempt things that I’m not ready for, but do you know what is behind a lot of that skill and being ready? An understanding that most of what I’m afraid of is simply due to a fear of the worst consequences and not because I don’t know how to do it.

Somehow, through all this, I’ve also begun to notice that I’m understanding my fears more in life. I recently had a situation where I really wanted a certain outcome, but instead of focusing on that outcome and staying calm, I freaked out. I did the opposite of what I wanted to and I bailed. I got the result that I was so focused on not happening. How many times have I seen this in mountain biking? Plenty.

So, if there are things that I have learned from my time on the trails, they are:

· Do what you’re ready for. Before you think that you’re not, consider your experience and your skill. You may actually be a lot more prepared than you think.

· Don’t focus on the negatives. They are okay to pay attention to for a minute. Understand your obstacles, so to speak. But, then, focus on the line. That line is all you have to be thinking about.

· Understand that fear is here many times to protect us. Don’t ignore it but when you know you’re ready to do that drop, it’s time to leave it behind you and simply say, “I’ve got this.”

Yesterday while riding with friends, my gal-pal and I tried a lot of things that we had to stop and question first. There was time for that. Calculating, understanding your lines, and knowing you have the skill are all important in mountain biking. But once we committed, we had to have trust in our experience and skill and we did a lot of things that I know we were both a bit nervous about, but nevertheless, we did anyway.

How did we feel afterward? Happy. We reached our goals. And we did it well.

So, now the next time one of the many life situations that like to get me all “cray-cray” comes along, I hope to face it as I do while staring at drops. “I understand my fear. There are concerns. They are valid. Can I do this? Yes, yes I can” and then just, send it. Something good will come out of it and life is better like this.
